Motorola is developing a new flagship Smartphone with a camera resolution of 200 megapixels

Motorola is reportedly working on a new flagship Smartphone codenamed "Frontier" that will compete directly with Samsung, Apple, and others, according to leaked information.

Motorola's last flagship, the Edge+, was released in 2020, and after that, the company shifted its focus to entry-level and mid-range handsets. That is set to change in 2022 when a project called Frontier is slated to arrive.

Motorola is already working on a next-generation flagship device, according to the German website TechnikNews. A 6.67-inch display will be seen on the front of the new Motorola Frontier. P-OLED technology was used to create this matrix. The image refresh rate is 144 Hz, and the resolution is Full HD.

The new Motorola flagship is believed to have a primary back camera with a 200 megapixel Samsung S5KHP1 sensor, as well as a 50 megapixel Samsung S5KJN1SQ03 (JN1) ultra-wide lens and a 12-megapixel IMX663 sensor. A 60 megapixel Omni Vision OV60A selfie camera, similar to the one found in the Motorola Edge X30, will also make an appearance.

The front camera will leverage the Snapdragon 8 Gen1's 'Always on Feature,' which can instantly identify if the user is observing and lock the screen. This automatically hides the message banners and, of course, prevents others from seeing what's on your screen.

It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

The Motorola Frontier's battery capacity is not specified in the report, although it is supposed to charge at up to 125W via its Type-C connection and 50W wirelessly. The Motorola Frontier is expected to run on the Android 12 operating system.

There is currently no information about the Motorola Frontier's launch date or final marketing name.

In related news, Motorola is rumored to be preparing to release the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra flagship in international regions. The Motorola Edge X30, which was revealed in December 2021, is thought to be the renamed version of this Smartphone.
